The incoming administration has made many promises about lowering inflation, energy costs, interest rates, home affordability, and other issues. However, it is facing many challenges that could derail its plans. One is the $8 trillion in Federal debt that needs to be rolled over in 2025.

Oil sentiment is record bearish. This is despite Permian producers cutting capex, sanctions resuming on Iran, and OPEC holding office on returning production to the market. Are we set up for a return to higher oil prices?

The Q3 Goehring and Rozencswajg commentary has been published. The report argues that the US has reached peak oil and gas shale production. If this is correct, it could cause a big upset in the energy markets, as the markets have the exact opposite expectation.

I think we may be experiencing a sea change in politics in Latin America. With Milei's election in Argentina, we see massive, unprecedented economic reforms and a complete rejection of statism. Several other countries in Latin America are going to have elections in 2025 and 2026.
Might the people of these countries be responsive to reforms similar to those in Argentina? If so, we may see a boom in South America.
